Day 1
Travel to Ludlow for a 4-night stay.
Day 2
We visit the lovely city of Hereford, home to a magnificent cathedral, which houses the Mappa Mundi and Chained Library. Explore the historic centre, riverside walks and independent shops. Continue to the historic market town of Leominster, known for its 'black and white' buildings and charming town centre.
Day 3
We enjoy a day of leisure in Ludlow, on market day, when the town comes alive with stalls selling local produce, crafts and gifts. Dominated by its impressive Norman castle, Ludlow boasts over 500 listed buildings, many in classic black and white Tudor style. Wander the medieval streets, browse the independent shops, visit the castle, St Laurence's Church and relax in one of the many cafes overlooking the River Teme.
Day 4
Today we visit Church Stretton, often described as 'Little Switzerland' due to its beautiful setting amongst the Shropshire Hills, before continuing to Stokesay Castle, one of England's finest and best-preserved medieval fortified manor houses.
Day 5
Time to reluctantly head for home.
