NOVEMBER: Discover the charm of Cornwall's picturesque coastline on this relaxing autumn break. Stay in the delightful harbour town of Looe and enjoy time exploring the historic cathedral city of Truro, the vibrant waterfront of Plymouth and the quaint streets, independent shops and scenic harbour of Looe. With a traditional Cornish cream tea on arrival, happy hour and evening entertainment at the hotel, this is the perfect short escape to the Cornish coast.
HOTEL: The 3-star Portbyhan Hotel enjoys an enviable quayside location in West Looe, overlooking the river with stunning views from its unrivalled position. Comfortable en suite bedrooms, excellent food and a warm Cornish welcome make it the perfect base for exploring this beautiful part of Cornwall.
Day 1
We journey to Looe for 3 nights half board accommodation at The Portbyhan Hotel.
Day 2
MARCH: Today we visit the fishing village of Padstow. Padstow is full of Cornish charm, featuring a quaint quayside with colourful fishing boats and narrow cobbled streets lined with cosy pubs, tea rooms, and small shops selling local crafts, art, and locally produced food. After some time in Padstow, we return to Looe where you'll have free time to further explore the town, perhaps taking a leisurely walk along the harbour or enjoying a cup of tea at one of the local cafes. NOVEMBER: After breakfast, we travel to the historic cathedral city of Truro. With its cobbled streets, independent shops and magnificent Gothic cathedral, you'll have free time to explore at your leisure, browse the shops or relax in one of the many cafés. This afternoon, we return to Looe where you'll have free time to enjoy this picturesque fishing harbour, wander the narrow streets or simply relax and take in the beautiful riverside setting.
Day 3
MARCH:This morning we visit the charming Cornish city of Truro, where you can enjoy time at leisure exploring the shops, cafés and attractions, including the stunning Gothic Revival Cathedral. Later today we continue to the breathtaking Lost Gardens of Heligan, where we will be welcomed by a member of the team and introduced to the fascinating history of the Heligan Estate and its remarkable restoration. We then enjoy a delicious cream tea before time at leisure to explore over 200 acres of beautiful gardens, woodland walks and the spectacular jungle area before returning to the hotel later this afternoon. NOVEMBER: Today we enjoy a full day in the vibrant maritime city of Plymouth. Explore the historic Barbican, stroll along the famous Hoe with its spectacular coastal views, browse the excellent range of shops or enjoy lunch overlooking the waterfront. Rich in naval history and full of attractions, Plymouth offers something for everyone before we return to Looe for our evening meal and entertainment.
Day 4
Sadly it is time to head for home, making comfort stops en route.
