Oxford, Blenheim Palace & Midsomer Murders Country

Day 1

Travel to Oxfordshire for a 4-night stay.

Day 2

Blenheim Palace is one of Britain's greatest palaces, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill. Visit the majestic Palace State Rooms; the Churchill Exhibition; walk in the footsteps of stars on their 'Lights, Camera, Action' trail; explore the beauty of the formal gardens, the walled garden, the secret garden, the butterfly house and find your way out of the famous Marlborough Maze.

Day 3

Midsomer Murders Country - watch out for any misdemeanours! Explore the Midsomer market town of Thame, one of the most filmed locations. Set at the foot of the Chiltern Hills, Thame has developed its own individual character, whilst preserving its rich history. Ancient medieval buildings stand alongside Georgian and Victorian architecture and visitors can follow Thame's own Midsomer Walking Trail. Head to the historic riverside town of Marlow for more Midsomer connections.

Day 4

Explore Oxford, the city of Dreaming Spires, named after the stunning architecture of its famous university buildings. The historic centre of Oxford is small enough to explore on foot, but you could also enjoy a river cruise or even hire a punt or a rowing boat. Oxford has starred in many films with scenes from the Harry Potter films shot at the University, but Oxford is probably most famous as the setting for TV's Inspector Morse. This afternoon, we visit Waterperry Gardens, home to 20 acres of beautifully landscaped ornamental gardens, shops, gallery, museum and tea shop.

Day 5

Sadly, it's time for home.
